MARCH 30, 2006 - HERE'S TO YOU, BRIAN, OUR SON, THE DOCTOR

March 28, 2006
Thursday, March 30, is designated as "Doctors Day".  Brian, we wish you were here to celebrate the day at St. John West Shore Hospital or wherever your rotation may have been.  You worked so very hard to obtain the knowledge required to become a physician, but you always possessed such a caring and compassionate manner.

Brian, you deserve recognition for being an outstanding osteopath in the short tenure you cared for your patients.  We heard so many wonderful things from your friends and co-workers at St. John West Shore Hospital.  Everyone loved you so much.

Thinking of you brings to mind so many of the reasons why you were such a wonderful doctor and person.  HERE'S TO YOU, MY SON, THE DOCTOR:

You possessed a real gift for the way you treated people and cared for your patients;
You created so many special moments by just being there.
When you were around, laughter came easily and comfort came naturally;
You could put anyone at ease with your beautiful smile and your calm and gentle manners.
You were genuinely interested in the welfare of others;
You listened attentively and cared with all your heart.
You had a unique way of brightening our lives and quietly sending ripples of kindness and love out to those around you.

Brian, you certainly were a "SHINING STAR" in the lives of your family, friends, co-workers and patients.  Thank you for being such a special part of our lives.  We miss you, and love you so much!

A memorial golf outing was held on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at Red Tail Golf Club in Avon, Ohio.  Tee time for the 18-hole, shotgun start scramble was at 1:00pm.  It was such a beautiful day for golfing for the 90 participants in the event.  We certainly had a wonderful group of old and new friends there, and enjoyed a fantastic dinner.

It certainly was a great day for a great cause...remembering Brian (a/k/a "The boy who could really smoke a golf ball out of sight!")... and supporting The Brian Holod Memorial Fund with benefits to St. John West Shore Hospital.  Our little Jordyn surprised us with some very special entertainment for the day!  Thanks to everyone who attended & to all those who supported this event in so many ways!
